National security concept adopted in July 15, 2010, and the Food security law adopted in Dec 20, 2012 by the Mongolian parliament, serve as legal framework of food security in the county. The concept and the law provide understanding and definition of food security. The lack of food security statistical indicators database in Mongolia and inability to assess and define food security level accurately impede the usefulness of statistical data in designing and implementing government interventions in health, food and agricultural sectors.
